Last updated: September 29, 2026. This policy covers Firefly Jars for Android, package com.kobasic.fireflyjars, version 1.1.0 (102) and later, including its Google Play testing builds.
1. Who is responsible
Andrija Rotter Kobasić, an independent developer based in Croatia and operating as Kobasic, is responsible for the game and for the personal information handled by us. For privacy questions or requests, email kobasic@gmail.com. We reply within 30 days.
2. What the game stores on your device
Firefly Jars has no player account, sign-in, online leaderboard or developer-operated cloud save. It stores the following in the app's private storage on your device, so that your progress and preferences are there the next time you play:
- Level progress and the star rating earned on each level
- Your daily puzzle streak: the date you last solved the daily puzzle, your current streak and your best streak
- The jar style you chose in the collection, and which new-gameplay introductions you have already seen
- Whether the one-time Remove ads purchase is active on this device
- Sound effects, music, night ambience, vibration and language preferences
The daily puzzle is chosen from your device's own date and clock; the game does not look up the time online. These files do not contain your name, email address or payment details, and they are not sent to Kobasic. They are deleted when you uninstall the game or clear its data. Because there is no cloud save, progress does not move to a new device.
The game does not include a first-party analytics or crash-reporting service. It does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, photos or precise location.
3. Advertising and privacy choices
Ads in Firefly Jars are provided by Google AdMob.
- Rewarded ads are shown only when you choose one: to reveal a hint or to add an extra jar. You receive the reward after the ad closes. If no ad is available, nothing is shown.
- Interstitial ads can appear between levels, after you finish a level and continue to the next one. They start from level 10, appear at most once every three completed levels and at least three minutes apart, and never appear in the middle of a level. They are not shown at all after you buy Remove ads.
When the game starts, it uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to check whether a privacy message is required in your region (for example in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland) and, if so, to show it. You can change your choice at any time from Settings → Privacy choices, which appears whenever your region requires it. Where consent is required and you do not give it, Google may still serve limited, non-personalised ads.
When ads are requested or shown, Google's Mobile Ads SDK can collect and process information such as your device's IP address and the approximate location inferred from it, the advertising ID, device and app information, ad interactions, and diagnostic data, including crash information from the ads SDK itself. Google uses this information to provide, measure and improve ads and, where permitted, to personalise them. Kobasic does not receive your advertising ID or IP address from these requests. Learn more in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's Android settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads, depending on your device).
4. Purchases
The game offers one optional in-app purchase, Remove ads, sold through Google Play Billing. Google processes the payment; Kobasic never receives your card or payment details. The game receives the purchase status and a purchase token from Google Play to confirm and acknowledge the purchase, and it checks your ownership with Google Play when the game starts, so the purchase is restored after reinstalling on the same Google account. Purchases are also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.
5. Permissions
The game declares these Android permissions:
- Internet and network state — to request ads and to talk to Google Play Billing.
- Advertising ID — used by the Google Mobile Ads SDK as described in section 3.
- Billing — for the Remove ads purchase through Google Play.
- Vibration — for gentle haptic feedback, which you can turn off in Settings.
- Basic phone state, wake lock and foreground service — declared by Google's ads and billing libraries for their own operation. The game does not use them to read calls, contacts or your phone number.
6. Children
Firefly Jars is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The game's target audience on Google Play is 13 and over. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the game, contact us and we will help remove it.
7. Legal bases (EEA / UK)
We process information to provide the game you asked for (performance of a contract), to show ads that fund the free game (legitimate interests, and your consent where the law requires it for personalised ads or device storage), and to meet legal obligations. You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings → Privacy choices; this does not affect processing that took place before.
8. Retention and international transfers
Game data stays on your device until you uninstall the game or clear its data. Information collected by Google is kept according to Google's own policies. Google may process information outside your country, including outside the EEA, using safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal information, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Because the game keeps your data only on your device, you can delete it yourself by uninstalling the game. For information held by Google, use your Google Account settings. To exercise any right with us, email kobasic@gmail.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Croatia this is the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP).
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, mention them in the game's release notes.
